The Advanced Heat Exchangers and Process Intensification (AHXPI) Laboratory at the the Univeristy of Maryland, College Park has an open position for a Research Engineer.
The Research Engineer will assist in conducting engineering research tasks, including but not limited to the design of experimental setups, data collection, and analysis, and interpretation of the results. Hardware skills such as machining and fabrication technologies, as well as trouble shooting of research setups as applicable and possible, are essential. Working skills with software tools ranging from computer-aided design to data acquisition and experimental planning software and data analysis are highly desirable. The Research Engineer may also take on consulting roles and suggest improvements or recommendations to the staff working on the research and development (R&D) projects. The Research engineer may also participate in preparing process manuals and laboratory guidelines.
Educational requirements: Master’s degree or bachelor’s degree with a minimum of four years of relevant experience in mechanical or aerospace engineering or a closely related field.
