The Smart and Small Thermal Systems (S2TS) laboratory, within the Center for Environmental Energy Engineering (CEEE) in the mechanical engineering department at the University of Maryland, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Graduate Student Assistant for an hourly-paid student position. This role is ideal for a graduate student interested in supporting ongoing research in energy efficiency and sustainability, lab operations, and project coordination and communication. 

Position Details

• Position Title: Graduate Student Assistant (Hourly)
• Department/Lab: S2TS Lab, University of Maryland
• Location: University of Maryland, College Park
• Hours per week: Initially 15 to 20 hrs per week, can expand further on mutual agreement, and based on the lab needs and the student’s availability. 
• Compensation: Competitive Hourly rate in accordance with University of Maryland student employment guidelines

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day research and administrative activities in the lab
• Support data collection, data organization, and documentation tasks
• Help prepare reports, presentations, and other supportive tasks
• Coordinate project-related communications and scheduling as needed
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to a well-organized lab environment
• Provide other project support duties assigned by the faculty advisor or lab leadership

Minimum Qualifications

• Current graduate student enrolled at the University of Maryland. Experienced undergraduate students may also be considered
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to collaborate professionally in a research or academic setting
